Letters to papi (No.6)

Dearest papi,

Today is a beautiful Sunday that both you & I have been blessed to be alive. With all that is going on in the world its truly a gift perspective is absolutely everything. That is something that you constantly reminded me of. Even through your struggles of addiction I know you tried your best to be a better man and I’m proud of you for just trying.

Yesterday I spoke to a doctor to get an update, your blood pressure has stabilized, your heart was well, your oxygenation was optimal and you were stable. They did have some concerns with some belly swelling but they did a x-ray and ct scan. The x-ray showed some stool blockage nothing severe once they address that they can start your g-tube feeds. You have a infection which is coming from your sputum that is on your lungs not to worry you are on new antibiotics for that. Tomorrow is the big day for your tracheotomy as long that your oxygen level stay well and no other issues come up. As we know papi this recovery process has a lot of ups & downs.

Lastly, I want to share with you that yesterday after my morning meditation and prayer I decided to open my bible. My bible is the same one mami & you gifted to me back in 1996. I read the dedication that you wrote in it and it brought me comfort and joy. I then proceeded to just open my bible and let spirit guide me to a message. I was guided to Psalm 86 “A prayer of David”. It was a perfect message to start my day with.

Hear me, Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Guard my life, for I am faithful to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God;  have mercy on me, Lord, for I call to you all day long. Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you.

Love always,
